Houston Canterbury at Texas Southern University strives to create an environment where students from all backgrounds experience welcome and belonging, challenge to grow in faith, and support for the journey. If you are a TSU student or alumnus, or a member of the faculty or staff, there is a way for you to get involved. Drop in for any Houston Canterbury event or reach out to Maria Bautista Vargas, TSU Campus Missioner, at email@example.com .
EAT. PRAY. GO.
Tuesdays from 9-11:30am
On the Rosewood side of St. Luke the Evangelist Episcopal Church
3530 Wheeler Avenue, Houston, TX 77004
Join us every Tuesday during the school year for breakfast, check-in, and prayer. We are aware that “studenting” is hard. Stop by on your way to campus on Tuesdays for some tasty breakfast favorites to energize you for the day ahead. Feel free to ask for prayers for whatever is on your mind.
Coffee on Canterbury
Einstein’s in the Science Building (TSU)
Grab a coffee, tea, a smoothie, or some other delicious beverage with the campus missioner on Thursdays. Bring a friend or two for a groupchat or take some one-on-one time to check-in and recenter yourself.
TSU GROUP CHAT
At the TSU Student Center
Group Chat is a weekly meet-up. Come as you are, make new friends, check in about life, eat free food, and dive into Scripture in a new way.
This semester, TSU Group Chat will offer you space to explore those things that our society doesn’t like to discuss, but which too often cause painful division. We will be exploring these taboo topics with the help of The Good Book: Reading the Bible with Mind and Heart by the renowned Baptist preacher Peter Gomes. Join us, and bring a friend. Lunch will be provided.
