Spring Semester 2020: Sunday, January 12 – Sunday, May 3

Join us as we eat, pray and worship in a new and exciting way – Dinner Church! We’ll share together in a big, joyful, delicious dinner, sharing stories and delighting in prayer, singing and in Holy Communion. Bring an appetite, an open heart, and a friend if you’d like! We’ll share in Dinner Church throughout the Spring 2020 semester, every Sunday Evening at 6:30pm.

The Gathering at St. Luke is a student-centered Christian worship community in the Episcopal tradition.  During the school year, we gather every Sunday night at St. Luke the Evangelist on the doorstep of Texas Southern University and just down the street from the University of Houston.  We gather at the table each week to share Holy Communion and a hardy delicious meal together, while also sharing prayer, scripture, song and ourselves .  Every Sunday, you can count on a fresh Word and fresh tasty food.

The Gathering is a student-centered community, but our life together is enriched by community members from different walks of life who decide to join us.  So, if you are looking for a small, diverse community of belonging where you will be fed, loved, and welcomed into the holy conversation, please join us.  We also recognize that many people in our community work on Sunday mornings and can’t get to church.  We hope you will drop in.

We proudly welcome people of EVERY gender, identity, orientation, race, class, status and beyond.

Houston Canterbury is the campus ministry of the Episcopal Church serving the University of Houston, Texas Southern University, Houston Community College, San Jacinto College and several other local colleges & universities.
