Tuesday, March 5
UH Day of Remembrance: March 5, 2019 – University Chapel, 12:00pm – 1:00pm Please consider joining your fellow Coogs in honoring our Cougar Family – students, faculty, staff, alumni & friends of the University – that have passed away the previous year for this year’s Day of Remembrance.
9:00 – 11:00 am: Eat. Pray. Go. at St. Luke the Evangelist (Rosedale side near the TSU entrance) to chat or pray about new beginnings. Go away ready to take on the day.
Grace Hour: We won’t have Grace Hour tonight, so that everyone can go to their parish Shrove Tuesday celebration. Don’t have a parish? Your parish doesn’t do pancakes? Join The Rev. Francene Young and Maria Bautista at St. Luke the Evangelist , 6:30-8:30 pm (3530 Wheeler St), for some deliciousness and fellowship.
Wednesday, March 6
Ash Wednesday: join us for Ashes for the Journey on the UH and TSU campuses. Rev. Francene Young and Maria Bautista will be offering Ashes for the Journey in front of St. Luke the Evangelist (3530 Wheeler St) from 9:30-11:30am followed by a noon day service. We will also be offering Ashes for the Journey in front of the AD Bruce Center 1:30-2:30pm.
11:30-1:00 pm: FREE Lunch at the AD Bruce Religion Center (UH)
Drop in for food and conversation.
Saturday, March 9
Koinonia : An LGBTQ+ and allies taboo talk group 12:00-2:00pm La Madeleine ( 5885 San Felipe St)
Koinonia is a monthly LGBTQ+ and allies group for young adults, where we will meet for fellowship and discussion. Our discussions will be based on the different taboo topics that our society and churches often leave undiscussed and too often cause a painful division .
Come as you are, make new friends, check in about life, grab lunch, and dive into a taboo conversation within the LGBTQ+ community in a new way.
Sunday, March 10
6:30-8:30 pm: The Gathering at St. Luke the Evangelist
The Gathering is an evening service of Christian worship in the Episcopal tradition, followed by community time around the table with a delicious and hot meal. All are welcome: friends, family, community members, and students. Rev. Francene Young will be celebrating and preaching.
