6:30-8:30 pm: The Gathering at St. Luke the Evangelist, 3530 Wheeler Ave, Houston, TX 77004
The Gathering is an evening service of Christian worship in the Episcopal tradition, followed by community time around the table with a delicious and hot meal.  All are welcome: friends, family, community members, and students.
NOTE: Because of the Super Bowl, on February 3, The Gathering will start at 4 pm.  This will be Eileen’s last Sunday with Houston Canterbury before her move to Austin.

9-11 am: EAT. PRAY. GO. (TSU)
Swing by St. Luke the Evangelist (on the Rosedale side) on your way to class for some free breakfast eats and beverages and a little time to pray or check-in. On January 15, we will set up in the AD Bruce Religion Center, Room 205.
7-8:30 pm: Grace Hour at Bohemeo’s (708 Telephone Rd)
Grace Hour is an informal space to come together to reconnect each week with our intentions, with other students walking this path, and with God.  Join the conversation, and live with eyes open and your spirit awakened.

11:30 am – 1 pm: FREE Lunch at the AD Bruce Religion Center (UH)
Every week you can depend on FREE lunch at the AD Bruce.  Drop in, make new friends, and eat free.
February 13, from 6:30-8:30 pm, we will be at the Catholic Newman Center (4805 Calhoun Rd, Houston, TX 77004) for the Interfaith Potluck.  This is a great opportunity to ask questions and share your own thoughts on faith and life. Let Maria ( know if you can make it.


7-8:30 pm on  February 28, The Skeptics Supper Club, La Madeleine, 10001 Westheimer, Houston, TX 77042
The Skeptics Supper Club is a monthly small group that comes together over dinner to discuss those questions that you might be afraid are too irreverent, too basic, or too out-of-bounds.  Dinner is provided by Canterbury.  Jason Evans, diocesan Missioner for Missional Communities, will be our guest provocateur.

Ladies’ Night East, February 1, 7-9 pm: 313 Avenue E, South Houston, TX 77587
Ladies’ Night is a group for young women that meets in homes on the east side of Houston to learn to do the work of “adulting” together as Christians. At this gathering, our theme will be: The Spiritual and Religious Lives of Ancient Women and Women Today. Join us for dinner and discussion at Kimberly’s house as we go deeper into conversation. Friends are welcome!
Ladies’ Night West, February 8, 7-9 pm: 4238 Yupon Ridge Dr  Houston, TX 77072
At this gathering, our theme will be: Ruth: Woman as Redeemed and Redeemer. Join us for dinner and discussion at Sylvia’s house as we go deeper into conversation. Friends are welcome!

Special Events:
February 16, Absalom Jones Day
– Join up with the Canterbury group headed down to Galveston for the Absalom Jones celebration at St. Augustine of Hippo Episcopal and some time at the beach.  The Rev. Absalom Jones was the first African American priest in the Episcopal Church.  The celebration will include a Eucharist uniting the voices of Episcopalians from all over and a discussion session on the Church’s role in a racially divided nation.  For more info, talk to Maria,

February 21-23, Diocesan Council will gather in the Woodlands to elect a new Bishop Suffragan for the West Region and to do some other business.  Keep our student delegates Liz Luna, Sylvia Garcia, and Darius Williams in your prayers.
