7-8:30 pm: Grace Hour at Bohemeo’s (708 Telephone Rd Suite E)  Have you ever wanted to get to know scripture better but felt like you didn’t know where to start?  Join us at Grace Hour this semester on Tuesday nights for free dinner and food for the soul.

Wednesday, October 24

6:00-9:00 pm: Screening of Traces of the Trade, Bellaire United Methodist, 4417 Bellaire Blvd, 77401

This event will feature a screening of the Emmy-nominated documentary Traces of the Trade, followed by a community meal and guided table conversation.  Traces of the Trade is a vulnerable look at one family’s reckoning with the legacy of slavery, and the conversation will be a chance to think, talk, and pray together as we reckon with a painful past and present. Each semester, the UH Catholic Newman Center hosts an interfaith/ecumenical dinner dialogue.  Join us as we seek a deeper mutual understanding and reflect on our own faith identity.  RSVP to eobrien@houstoncanterbury.org by October 24.

Saturday, October 27
6:00-9:00 pm: Conferencia Te, Christ Church Cathedral (1117 Texas Ave 77002)
This is a mini-conference in Spanish for women, age 18 and up.  The theme of the evening will be: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow: The Power of the Female Voice.  The Rev. Eileen O’Brien will keynote.  Dinner is included.

Sunday, October 28
5:00-6:00 pm: Costa Rica Info Session at St. Luke the Evangelist and online
This May (23-30), Houston Canterbury will participate in an Episcopal Diocese of Texas College Ministries trip to our companion diocese of Costa Rica.  Join us for an information session in whatever way you can, in person or online, this Sunday if you are interested.
