For new students at the University of Houston and Texas Southern University, the surrounding Third Ward community may be a bit of a mystery.  We know that the first step toward loving one’s neighbor is seeing and knowing one’s neighbor, and so Houston Canterbury would like to invite you to join us and grassroots organization Tour de Hood for a ride through the Third Ward at the beginning of the school year.

This leisurely ride will allow you to get to know your fellow riders, both students and community members alike, to see the 3rd Ward at a slower pace, and to learn about the history of this community.  Along the way, we will stop at key community-serving organizations, note places for food and fun, and hear about how this community came into being from people who know.
