On Saturday, March 24 from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, St. Luke the Evangelist (3530 Wheeler Ave, 77004) will host a Mental Health First Aid Training, sponsored by the Episcopal Health Foundation and the Union of Black Episcopalians.   Registration is free.  Seats are limited.

I highly recommend this training to all college students, but especially to those who function as R.A.s, peer mentors, or employees of Student Housing.  Mental Health First Aid teaches:
* Risk factors and warning signs of mental health concerns
* Information on depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, and substance abuse
* A 5-step action plan to help someone developing a mental health concern or in crisis
* Available evidence-based professional, peer, and self-help resources

Get equipped so that you can be a resource to your community, and so that together we can break down the stigma of mental illness in our communities through compassion and caring.
