Start the new semester off right!
Thursday, January 11, 7-8:30 pm: The Skeptics Supper Club
Collina’s at 8800 Katy Fwy #109, Houston, TX 77024
The Skeptics Supper Club is a monthly small group that comes together over dinner to discuss those questions that you might be afraid are too irreverent, too basic, or too out-of-bounds. Given the season of the year, our discussion on January 11 will focus on the Blessed Virgin Mary. What does scripture actually say about who Mary is? How do we deal with the traditions that have grown up around the person of Mary that are not based in scripture? What is at stake in believing or not believing particular things about Mary?
Friends from various religious traditions and backgrounds are invited to join us for this discussion. If you need a ride from the UH/TSU area, contact email@example.com. Dinner is on Canterbury.
Friday, January 12, 7-8:30 pm: Ladies’ Night
At 602 Ave D, South Houston, TX 77587
A new women’s group is forming on the southeast side of town, and you are invited to come join us as we seek to hear the stories of the fierce women of the Bible who get things done under the radar. How can their stories connect with ours today?
For more information, contact Maria at firstname.lastname@example.org.
