The main task of the summer intern is to assist the Companion Diocese Officer(CDO) in
leading mission groups in Costa Rica. Because there are a number of weeks this summer
when there are more than one group in Costa Rica, the summer intern will lead groups that have been organized and scheduled by the CDO. This entails communicating with project managers, transportation and diocesan office employees. It will be the job of the intern to make sure the missioners have work to do, know how to do it and have the tools they need. The intern will also make sure the group has water, a first aid kit, and sunscreen. They will also accompany the group on any excursion that the group may take, they will be there to make sure hotel and restaurant reservations are in order.

The summer intern will have a space in the lower level of the diocesan house. However
depending on the week, they may be traveling with a mission group outside of San Jose. In that situation it will depend on the size and accommodations of the group, but all lodgingand food costs are covered by mission groups and the Diocese of Costa Rica.

The position is an unpaid internship with lodging and food covered. Travel expenses to
Costa Rica are not covered.
